BUGATTI Veyron with F1 number plate

Posted by: Carnews | Comments (0)

The world’s most expensive Bugatti Veyron, complete with F1 number plate, will be a star attraction at this year’s MPH Show featuring Top Gear Live at London’s Earls Court between 5-8 November.

If ever the phrase ‘if you need to ask the price, you can’t afford it’ was appropriate it’s now. But at the right price the car could be up for sale, according to owner Afzal Kahn.

He’s hoping his soft white 253mph supercar could be the perfect choice for newly crowned Formula One champion Jenson Button since it features the most expensive number plate sold in the UK.

Capable of catapulting the driver to 100mph in 5.5 seconds this particular 1,010 BHP Bugatti Veyron has no close modern rivals in terms of price tags. But show goers can be sure, if rivals exist, they’ll all be at MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show.

Already the ultra rare GTbyCITROËN, worth over £1 million, is scheduled to appear at the show alongside fire-breathing examples from Pagani and Koenigsegg. Rumours about the Ferrari FXX, Lamborghini GT600 and Pagani Zonda R making an appearance are also widespread.

A new Bugatti piece of art for Pebble Beach

The « Sang Bleu » to honour the 100th anniversary of the marque

Carmel, California, 14th August 2009. – Continuing this year’s 100th anniversary celebrations Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. has chosen the prestigious Pebble Beach weekend to present a further highlight to pay tribute to this legendary brand : The company proudly unveils the Bugatti « Sang Bleu » – an exclusive, one-off Grand Sport, honouring the marques precious heritage.

Innovation and Harmony

The « Sang Bleu » has ventured into new areas. Instead of applying two paint colours or paint and material to highlight the two tone design the « Sang Bleu » exclusively concentrates on materials – carbon fibre and aluminum – an innovative combination never realised before. This unique approach opens a new dimension of « Art – Forme – Technique », the company’s core values.

The colour combination commissioned for the Pebble Beach car is blue carbon fibre with polished aluminum. The visual carbon fibre is tinted in royal blue to emphasize the refined volumes and surfaces of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. The rear airscoops are tinted in the same nightblue – offering a dramatic view from above – and thus fluidly integrate into the overall design philosophy of this unique model.

The rims are inspired by the Grand Sport Roadster and are highlighted in a Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two tone finish. The interior, specially and tastefully selcted for the Pebble Beach event, is trimmed in a newly developed Gaucho leather which blends with the intriguing and pure exterior materials creating an elegant and harmonious overall appearance.

Featured Marque

In the year of its100th anniversary Bugatti has been selected to be one of the featured marques at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Ettore Bugatti started his business in the Alsacian town of Molsheim in 1909. The name of the company: „Ettore Bugatti Automobiles i. Els.”. In 1956 the company ceased its activities. Exactly 50 years later, in March 2006, the first Bugatti Veyron built by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. was delivered – after the Volkswagen Group had aquired the rights of the Bugatti marque in 1998 and started the re-launch of this famous brand. To date over 250 of the planned Bugatti Veyrons are sold, 215 of them have been delivered to customers worldwide. In June 2009 Bugatti started production of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, the open roadster. The sales results are encouraging over 20 Grand Sports have been sold, with first deliveries already started.

The Bugatti « Sang Bleu » is the latest in a line of centenary Bugatti models which have won worldwide acclaim in 2009. This unique car stands – like the others – for the commitment of the Bugatti of today to carry the values and the philosophy of Ettore Bugatti, the founder of this unique marque, into a successful future.

2008 Bugatti Type 12-2 Streamliner Concept Design by Racer X Design

Bugatti Type 12-2 Streamliner Concept

A few months ago Racer X Design released the sketches of the KC-427, which is currently being built and expected to be shown as a fully built car by the end of the year.

The streamliner is not intended for production, and is just one of the many designs that Racer X Design have come up with.

Designed as an example of a luxurious four seater GT, the type 12-2 is the artwork of Reuben Zammit. The aim was to get the type 12-2 immediately recognizable, yet make a signature of it’s own for a specific marquee. A classic front engine rear wheel drive layout. The shape allows for a boot bigger than its rivals, yet keeping the lines flowing. The doors take a large part of the side and the roof for easier access.

The idea is to use a VW derived W12 engine with a twin turbo layout hence the name 12-2. Although not as extravagant as the W16 used in the Veyron, there would be enough power to propel the Type 12-2 to over 200 mph.

Racer X Design is a company that has designed and built some of the best show cars in the business winning first place awards in the XLR-8 live competition every time it competed with 4 different demo cars in 2 different classes for bodystyling.

“We are now offering various design services ranging from show car design to full concept car design to any individual whether he needs to modify a car for competition use, or companies looking for a design that can meet their needs.”
